About Intro to Electrical & Electronics Engg (GXEST104)

About Introduction to Electrical and Electronics Engineering (GXEST104)

Introduction to Electrical and Electronics Engineering (GXEST104) is a first-semester course in the KTU B.Tech 2024 scheme. It is shared by Group A and Group B branches, so students of Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics and related programmes all study the same syllabus. For many students it is their first proper look at how electricity behaves in a circuit and how everyday electronic devices actually work.

The course is split into two halves. Part 1 covers electrical engineering: DC and AC circuits, magnetism and three-phase power. Part 2 covers electronics engineering: semiconductor devices, power supplies, transistors and modern communication systems. Together they give every engineering student a working foundation, whatever their branch.
